Hand-Knotted Caucasian Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian tribal area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of cornsilk, burgundy, and sapphire. It begins with three hooked medallions, two of which are diamond-shaped and one rectangular, over a burgundy-colored field. Framing the field are four borders, including a crab patterned primary border over cornsilk, and two laleh abbasi reciprocal minor borders. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with gray wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
