A catalog of pochoir lithograph prints after Charles Martin titled La Mode en Mil Neuf Cent Douze Chez Marcelle Demay (Fashion in 1912 at Marcelle Demay). This catalog features various colorful illustrative prints of ladies’ fashion hats with golden yellow vignettes and motifs in the margins of animals and plants. Each print is signed in-plate by Charles Miller. The hats were created by Parisian milliner Marcelle Demay, and the four hats were worn by the French actress Berthe Cerny. The cover page features an illustration of a black and yellow bird in flight with the text ‘Edité par Marcelle Demay, Modiste, 11, Rue Royale Paris’ (‘Edited by Marcelle Demay, Milliner’). One of the pages near the end features golden yellow text reading ‘Achevé—- D’Imprimer par Draeger Frères, le 1er Mars, Mil Neuf Cent Douze’ (Completed—- Printed by Draeger Brothers, March 1st, Nineteen Hundred and Twelve) and on the final page is text from Marcelle Demay reading ‘Cet album, compose pour la Parisienne de 1912, il m’a paru tout indiqué de la consacrer à Mlle Berthe Cerny, la parfaite ‘Parisienne’ du Théâtre Français – Marcelle Demay’ which translates to ‘This album, composed for the 1912 La Parisienne, it seemed appropriate to dedicate it to Miss Berthe Cerny, the perfect ’Parisienne’ of French Theatre.’
