Chinese Ceramic Pot

A Chinese ceramic vessel. The urn features a stout, spherical design with a raised circular rim. It has raised gold-tone framing around illustrations of horned creatures and floral designs in a wucai or ‘five color’ palette of red, green, blue, and yellow on a white ground. The underside is marked with a Jiajing reign mark, however, the piece was likely produced during the Republic period (1912-1949) or later int he 20th century.

- surface scratches consistent with age, discoloration, loss of shine to gold overlay, would benefit from cleaning
