Hand-Knotted Mehriban Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Mehriban wool area rug. A large design in the center of the coral field features stylized poppies and off-white flowers on stems coming out of a concentric circle. On either side are arrow-shaped devices among more blooms. At each end of the field are large sprays. The rug has been worked in shades of faded brick red, peach, coral, black, ivory, and light blue-gray. The guard borders have meanders in peach, blue-gray, rust, and brick red on an ivory background. The primary border has a dark background infilled with flowers and foliage. There is very short cotton fringe at each end. No label.
