A Carl Schmidt 1921 Rookwood vase. This 1921 Rookwood Pottery vellum glazed vase of sailing vessels on water has impressed initials by well-listed artist Carl Schmidt (Cincinnati, Ohio, 1875 – 1959). The vase is shape No. 937 V, the year XXI (21), impressed with the initials ‘CS’, and hallmarked to the verso. It is marked as a second with an incised X.
