An original abstract acrylic painting on canvas by contemporary American Abstract Expressionist artist J. Popolin (Cincinnati; 21st century), titled Field of Black Rain. The painting depicts a field of black morphing into large brush strokes of black and drips raining from the black field. Artist’s signature is signed to the lower right. This work is not framed but equipped to hang. Popolin, a native of Cincinnati, has a BA in Fine Arts from Marietta College in eastern Ohio, and is currently a studio resident at the Pendleton Art Center in the historic neighborhood and arts district of Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati. Popolin’s art is influenced by travels and life experiences in Boston, Cape Cod, the Caribbean, New York City, Northern California, the United Kingdom and extensive travels throughout Europe and the United States.
