An original watercolor landscape by Thelma Walter (American, 1911- 2000). This work depicts mature trees shading a winding path with an arched entryway to the left. It is signed and dated ’90 and presented under double mats in a gold tone metal frame with radius edges. It is protected by acrylic glass and hangs by a wire to the verso.
Thelma Walter worked in a variety of mediums, but primarily watercolors. She won numerous awards in juried shows during her career that spanned several decades. She exhibited in New York, Boston, Florida, Cincinnati, and Columbus, Ohio. According to a personal letter written by her son, Thelma “painted to give joy and meaning to people’s lives.”
