Large Hand-Knotted Tibetan Multi-Colored Area Rug

A large hand-knotted Tibetan area rug. This rug was woven by Tibetan artisans in Nepal. It features a comtemporary, abstract design in a palette of burgundy, mauve, teal, cream, pink, sage, and black. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with a short kilim skirt and ivory wool warp fringe. A label on the reverse reads, in part, that the rug was ‘handknotted in the Kingdom of Nepal and hand finished in an environmentally friendly washing process in Europe.’
