A pair of Chinese Christian paintings on fabric. The first painting depicts the Madonna and Child. Mary holds flowers in her hand and carrying Jesus on her back. Both woman and child have pale yellow halos behind their heads. There are three doves in the composition, two in the foreground and one in flight toward the child. A body of water in the distance narrows to a stream as it passes the figures. To the left, a weeping tree grows. The second painting depicts the Madonna and Child floating on pink clouds. Jesus holds a rosary in his outstretched arms. In this image, both figures appear with a pale yellow halo behind their heads. A full spectrum of color is used in these vibrant paintings. Both pieces are matted in black which has discolored over time. Presented behind glass. Framed in wood painted black. To the verso, wired to hang.
