Robert Herrmann Oil Painting on Board "Park Ave Lobby View"

An oil painting on board titled Park Ave Lobby View by Cincinnati painter Robert Herrmann (American, 1922-1996), executed in 1967. A bold, black line runs down the right center of the composition flanked by architectural scenes to either side. Tan color blocks are situated at the bottom of both panels with skeletal renderings of buildings with dark windows beneath a white sky. Signed, titled and dated to the verso. Presented without glass and housed in a cream colored wood frame with brown colored beveled sight.

Herrmann acquired his formal artistic and architectural training at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. While professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, making his first solo exhibit posthumous. He is known for his precisionist style and his paintings of architectural landscapes.
