Item Details
An assortment of three abstract mixed media compositions on boards by listed American artist Ronald Ahlström (1922-2012). These works are composed of acrylic paint, ink, various paper scraps, fragmented printed imagery, and other materials. One work titled Flapper features a half-body portrait of a woman portrayed in a Cubist style with angular shapes and exaggerated features against a background of black, red, yellow, and blue rectangular planes. Two other works are mixed media collages featuring geometric designs with angular shapes and fragments of printed mass media imagery. Two works are signed to the lower right, and all are signed to the versos with additional handwritten information about the composition. Each composition remains unframed.
Condition
- minor scratches, small spots of paint loss and accretion marks scattered throughout compositions; fraying, small tears, and minor bending on edges of boards.
