A hand-carved African sculpture depicting a kneeling woman with eyes closed. The stylized female figure has an elongated neck, and carved geometric patterns to her torso. She kneels, resting on her heels and holding a round vessel on her thighs. A piece of tape on the underside is marked ‘N.5 Hembh – Congo’.

Condition

- figure tends to lean and does not stand on its own
- right hand/wrist and one breast are cracked
