Collection of Ronald Ahlström Abstract Compositions on Canvas Boards
Item Details
A collection of three abstract compositions on canvas boards by listed American artist Ronald Ahlström (1922-2012). One work features a black silhouetted figure against a background of adjacent rectilinear shapes, rendered in ink and acrylic paint. This work is unsigned. Two other works are mixed media collages composed of acrylic paint, ink, various paper scraps, fragmented printed imagery, and other materials, assembled into abstract geometric designs. Both of these compositions are signed to the front and to the versos; one includes the artists monogram stamp to the lower right. Additional handwritten information is present to the versos of these two canvas boards. All that Jazz is handwritten to the verso of one canvas board, perhaps identifying the title. Each composition remains unframed.
Condition
- some wear along canvas board edges including fraying, bending, some paint loss, and stains; some scratches and stains scattered throughout compositions.
