Item Details

A semi-antique hand-knotted Heriz wool area rug. The vibrantly colored and densely patterned rug features a red field with center star pendant medallion worked in shades of red, rose, indigo, black, camel, and ivory. it has ivory corner spandrels and wide unresolved samovar borders with a primary dark background and motifs worked in the same palette. There are double overcast selvedges and short fringe at each end. The warp ends have been secured with stitching, likely a result of a prior restoration or repair. Illegibly labeled to the underside.
