After Hokusai Manga Woodblock Prints Featuring Figures

A pair of woodblock prints on paper after renowned Japanese printmaker Katsushika Hokusai (1760 – 1849), from his Manga series. These prints present figural studies arranged in rectangular compositions and outdoor settings, printed in grey and light peach ink on off-white paper. The piece under a green mat includes in-plate inscriptions and signatures. These prints are presented under mats in protective plastic, without hanging hardware.
Condition
- foxing, toning and water damage to paper throughout; surface wear to mats; sticker residue to plastic covers.
