Item Details
A handwoven area rug. This wool rug, attributed to Indian weavers, is rendered in a palette of heathered brown and off-white. It features two rows of octagonal medallions, each enclosing a rose in white over brown. Latticed amid the rose medallions are smaller, octagonal star medallions. The field is framed by an unresolved border featuring repeating abstract motifs. Selvedges are hand-finished; top and bottom feature short wool warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
Condition
- fraying along edges, some wear to surface; could benefit from professional cleaning.
