Pair of Rookwood Art Pottery "Abel Bear" Beatnik Figurines
Item Details
A pair of Rookwood art pottery figurines titled Abel Bear first designed by Rookwood artist Louise Abel in the 1930s. They are featuring the Beatnik color in a low-gloss glaze. To the undersides, they are marked with the Rookwood logo along with ‘6485’ and ‘MMXV’ for date 2015 and Louise Abel’s cypher mark. One of the bears has an additional mark belonging to Ximena Flores, a contemporary Rookwood polychrome decorator and artist.
