Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian "Agrippa" Area Rug

A hand knotted Indo-Persian wool area rug by Agippa. The rug features a central medallion in an ivory field. The lozenge-shaped medallion is worked in shades of vibrant rusty orange, delft blue, pale blue, gold, sage green, and leaf green. The ivory field is infilled with herati motifs in the same palette. The spandrels are predominantly green. Foliar designs in rust, camel, sage, green, gold, and blue infill the corners. The primary border is edged by two narrow borders in pale blue with a meandering floral design. The primary lily border has a rust ground with the motifs worked in camel, green, blue, ivory, and rust. There is a short fringe to each end. The rug has a label attached to the reverse. It states, ‘All Pure New Wool Pile/Genuine Agrippa/One of the World’s Finest Rugs/Loom Size 4×6′.
