Antique Quartersawn Oak Armchair by Buffalo Chair Works
Item Details
An antique armchair by Buffalo Chair Works, circa early 20th century. This quartersawn oak piece has a vasiform splat under a wide, curved crestrail, outward flared armrests on curved stiles, and an upholstered seat. It is raised on cabriole legs with paw feet, with a double arched apron between them, and connected by an H-stretcher. The upholstery over the seat covers a hole, perhaps originally caned. It retains a pasted paper tag by the manufacturer to the base. Includes a pillow in the same forest green and burgundy upholstery as the seat.
