A Civil War era one hundred dollar bond between the indebted individual and the Corporation of Charlotte in the State of Virginia in July, 1859. The text within the bond describes the obligation of the indebted to the Mayor’s Office in the town of Charlottesville. Signed in ink by the indebted and the mayor of Charlottesville at the time, ‘Th. Wood.’ Printed by W.H. Arthur & co., New York. Numbered ‘14’ to the top left. Presented under glass and housed in a black toned wood frame.
