Arellano Oil Painting of Domestic Scene
Item Details
An oil painting of a domestic scene, possibly the Philippines, by artist Arellano. This painting depicts a domestic scene in rural Southeast Asia. Cental to the composition is a figure wearing a hat engaged in some activity. In the background are two more figures as well as two dwellings. A large tree dominates the central space and divides the composition, giving it an angular structure. Signed in the lower right in red paint, first name is illegible, last name reads Arellano. Dated 1967. Framed in a layered frame of wood painted white with a dark stained liner. To the verso, gallery labels from Manila. Wired to hang.
