A reproduction metal sculpture titled Defending the People by C.A. Pardell. This sculpture depicts two famous Native American war leaders Crazy Horse ,who was a war leader of the Oglala Lakota people during the 19th century, and Moving Robe or Moving Robe Woman, who was a Hunkapapa Sioux woman that is famed for supposedly killing officer George Armstrong Custer during the Battle of Little Big Horn of 1876 during the American Indian War. The scene depicted here is presumably Crazy Horse and Moving Robe riding alongside one another during the Battle of Little Big Horn, which they emerged victorious and gained military respect from their allies and enemies alike. This sculpture is a limited edition reproduction, edition number 487 of 950 and is copyright 1992 by Legend Mixed Media both on the sculpture and on the verso of the base.
