Ink Wash

A circa 1971 ink drawing on paper attributed to listed Texas artist G. Harvey (born Gerald Harvey Jones, 1933). The piece, titled Smoke House, depicts a rustic farm outbuilding with a windmill to the background, rendered in a palette of black against tan. The work is signed in black ink to the lower right and titled to the lower left. It is double matted in brown and off-white and presented under glass in a beveled stained wooden frame with distressed accents. The frame includes a sawtooth hanger to the verso, as well as a letter from the previous owner dating the work to 1971.

Condition

- some toning to paper; minor nicks and wear to frame; sticky putty adhered to top of frame verso.
