Cross-Stitch Piece "The Legend of the Sand Dollar"

Item Details

A cross-stitch with a poem titled The Legend of the Sand Dollar. This hand-stitched piece features a poem with the first two couplets across the top and the rest making a column down the left side. In this poem, the sand dollar is described through Christiam symbolism that can be related to elements of the sand dollar, such as the star-shaped markings on the creature and the interior pieces resembling doves. The image of two sand dollars is stitched along the bottom, with a third broken open and releasing one of these dove-shaped bits, which rises up to become a real dove on the right side, and flies off towards a distant sun. The piece is unmarked and presented in a cream-colored frame that is wired for hanging.
