Russian Inlaid Wooden Plaques

Item Details

A group of two Russian inlaid wooden plaques. These pieces were purchased when the consigner was stationed in Berlin in the 1980s before the wall came down. The two rectangular pieces feature a village near a city and a river with a well or water pump while a young woman gets buckets of water. They are made of several different types of wood and are heavily lacquered. They are marked on the reverse ‘Riga, Made in USSR, Artikuls’.
