An 1815 sterling silver shell ladle with London hallmarks, made by well-known silversmiths William Eley and William Fern. The Georgian ladle has a fluted scallop shell bowl and a long simple handle engraved at the end with a heraldic fist holding a laurel wreath. This piece features London hallmarks including the maker’s mark, lion passant, the date mark for 1815 and the George III duty mark. The total weight is approximately 6.490 ozt.
