A hand-knotted and embroidered Baluch tribal runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of royal blue, cherry, camel, and gray. It features a vertical row of diamond medallions framed in a memling lattice. Enclosing the field are two box borders, including a primary border featuring a Baluch scrolling pattern over red. The rug is textured throughout, with embroidered embellishments and areas of flatweave. Top and bottom finish with embroidered kilim skirts. Selvedges are double overcast, while ends have short, camel-hair and wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
