A chromolithograph on paper after an original painting titled The Wyandot Indian Mission by Frank H. Halbedel (American, 1852-1929). Depicted is the first mission of the Methodist Episcopal Church with the Native American Wyandot people in Sandusky, Ohio. The original church was built in 1824 and later restored in 1887. Halbedel commemorates the rededication by depicting the church as it would have originally appeared, including Missionary James B. Findley and Wyandot Chief Mononcue. Signed to the lower left in plate with a brass title plaque to the lower center. Presented under glass in a beveled wood frame. Frank Halbedel was buried at the Old Mission Cemetery adjacent to the Wyandot Mission Church.
