A mixed media drawing after a circa 17th century portrait. This work on paper, which utilizes a charcoal foundation reinforced by white pastel shading, depicts a nobleman from Amsterdam posed in a flowing robe while wearing a star pendant. He clutches at a crown and hardcover book with each hand, seated next to a fluted column. The unsigned drawing is placed in a pale blue mat featuring an oval window. This is placed on a cardboard backing, which is inscribed to the verso, possible dating this work to February 1982.

- fading to work; backing board stained and bent to center.
