A hand-knotted Persian wool area rug, likely from the Darejzine region. The rug features a central floral pendant medallion n a palette of taupe, powder blue, brown and cream and sits on a red field. The field is populated by floral palmettes, vines, and floral blossoms with embellished spandrels in deep blue. The field is enclosed by a compound border that features a pattern of floral palmettes and vines in a complementary color palette. The rug has an overcast edge with a short fringe to either end and is not marked.
