A reproduction woodblock print on paper after Japanese artist Utagawa Hiroshige (1797 – 1858), titled View of Mount Fuji from Koshigaya, Province of Musashi. This print, which is from Hiroshige’s Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji series, depicts the titular view from an expansive, grassy field accented with a field of yellow flowers and curling cherry blossom trees. This frames a calm lake with people gathered to the shore, with Mount Fuji to the distance. To the corners of the composition are red banners containing Asian characters. This print is presented under glass beneath layered matting in a black wooden frame moulded with bamboo motifs. To the verso is affixed hanging wire.

Condition

- light wear to frame finish; glass could benefit from cleaning.
