Gouache on Paper Study of Knossos, Greece Fresco
Item Details
An original gouache on paper study made after a famed Greek fresco painted between 1700 B.C. – 1500 B.C. in Knossos, Crete. The study is made in saturated fields of various shades of yellow, blue, white, black, and brown. It depicts a figure riding on a bull that leaps between two additional figures, and is surrounded by a patterned border. The study is labeled ‘Fresco Knossos’ to the lower right. It is mounted to white backing and matted in beige. It is presented behind glass in a thin silver tone metal frame with a hanging wire attached to the verso.
