"All God's Children" Figurines
Item Details
A set of ‘All God’s Children’ figurines. The six resin pieces feature individual depictions of African-American children by artist Martha Holcombe. Each work comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. This lot features two similar ‘Becky’ figures from 1981 and 1987; one of them has a patch on her apron, the other one does not. ‘Peanut’ sits on bedding holding his blanket. He is marked edition 29, and the date is illegible. ‘Olivia’ holds a small doll; she is marked edition 24 and dated 1992. ‘Garrett’ sleeps in a chair; he is edition 35, and dated 1993. ‘Willie’ in blue overalls is edition 34. Martha Holcombe Root started the series in 1985.
