Large Hand-Knotted Indo-Sarouk Area Rug

A large hand-knotted Indo-Sarouk area rug. This wool rug, attributed to Indian weavers, features an allover floral design comprised of discrete bouquets of clustered floral sprays, some including palmettes, over a cranberry-colored field. The palette is cranberry, teal, peach, and caramel. Framing the field are compound box borders, including a floral herati main border over teal. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
