1860 Robert Harper Sterling Bowl with Other Sterling Silver Pieces

A grouping of sterling silver items. This includes a 1860 footed bowl with repoussé floral and lion head design by London silversmith Robert Harper (active 1859-1882). It is marked on the undersides with the maker’s mark ‘RH’, and four hallmarks including a lion for sterling, a leopard head for London, a Gothic ‘e’ for 1860 and a Victoria duty mark. It is presented with a footed cup with personalized engraving by Hunt Silver Company and a shell-shaped dish by International Silver Company. Each is marked for sterling fineness. The total approximate weight is 19.460 ozt.

- to fair; mild to moderate surface wear and scratches including faint markings, and minimal to mild tarnishing; few dents, notably on footed cup; personalized engraving to cup.
