1850s American Edition "The Old Curiosity Shop" by Charles Dickens

A mid-nineteenth-century American edition of Charles Dickens’s The Old Curiosity Shop. This edition was published circa the mid-1850s by T. B. Peterson of Philadelphia; an advertisement on the title page for ‘T. B. Peterson’s Uniform Edition of Charles Dickens’ Works’ includes the 1854 novel Hard Times under the heading ‘Dickens’ New Stories’. The book is bound in full cloth with blind-stamped cover decoration and a gilt illustration of Little Nell and her grandfather on the spine.
