1810 "Fables by John Gay" in Two Volumes Including William Blake Illustrations

An 1810 edition in two volumes of Fables by John Gay, ‘with a Life of the Author and embellished with Seventy Plates.’ This edition, printed for John Stockdale of London circa 1810, is a reissue of Stockdale’s 1793 edition printed with the same plates—including the ‘1793’ title page—but with the re-set text using a modern letter s in place of the original long s. Both volumes are bound in half leather with marbled boards and page edges and gilt spine text. Twelve of the illustrations in this work were engraved by William Blake.
