An original watercolor painting by American artist George E. Lambert Jr. of a figure astride a donkey. This composition includes a figure in colorful period East Asian dress astride a donkey with bells on its harness. There is a suggestion of architecture in the upper right. Realistic coloring has been employed in this piece and includes a full spectrum of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Signed in watercolor to the lower right. Matted in aged ivory matting with a double band of red surrounding image and a blue star in the lower center and presented behind glass. The matting has several spots of discoloring due to age and there are several areas of spotting on the interior of the glazing. Frame is made of white washed wood. To the verso, there are eye hooks for wiring but no wire.
