Caproni Reproduction Resin Bust of Zeus

Item Details

A Caproni Reproduction resin bust of Zeus. This freestanding bust depicts the Grecian God posed in front portraiture, moulded with a relatively symmetrical beard in low-relief detail. He looks onward with narrow eyes, slender nose and pursed lips. The bust is affixed to a turned base, with felt pads to the underside for support. Also found to the underside is an inscription from the manufacturer, as well as a handwritten note of provenance, which dates the original bust to around 150 B.C.

Condition

- a few small chips to hair on left side of face; wear to surface.
