Spindle Back Captain's Chair, Side Chair, and Savonarola Inspired Chair

An assortment of spindle back chairs. This collection of three chairs features a Savonarola inspired oak chair with curved crest rail above a carved splat and turned spindles flanked by stiles topped with acanthus leaf and scroll motif. The slopping armrests end in scroll handholds flanking a curved seat above a carved apron and rising on splayed legs. Also includes a captain’s chair with pierced splat and turned spindles above a saddle seat rising on turned legs joined by a perimeter stretcher. The side chair features a curved crest rail and three vertical spindles above a saddle seat rising on splayed legs and joined by a perimeter stretcher. There are no visible maker’s marks on these pieces.
