A hand-knotted Hamadan wool area rug. This vintage wool rug features a floral herati pattern on a dark red field in a palette of white, cream, green and yellow. The rug has a compound border featuring a wide primary band in a palmette and floral raceme pattern with boteh guard borders in the field colors, ending in an overcast edge and bound warp ends. There are no visible maker’s marks to the piece.
