A hand-knotted Turkish Sparta wool area rug. The rug features a maroon field with a series of flowers and arabesque designs in shades of navy, teal, green, sage, orange, and beige. The main border features a series of floral and leaf designs in shades of maroon, teal, sage, and beige on an blue ground. It has a triple overcast edge and short, dense wool warp fringe to each end. The piece is unmarked.
