1972 World Series Minted Coin with Packet
Item Details
A 1972 World Series coin with a dated envelope. The coin was set inside a white plastic folder that has red and blue stripes with two red stars and ‘WORLD SERIES OF 1972’ in black lettering. A booklet titled The World Series of 1972 and it has the Oakland Athletics and the Cincinnati Reds logo on the front cover. The booklet describes the World Series with small black-and-white pictures. The coin is on the opposite page, with an envelope that has blue and red embossed bunting design; the envelope has a postage stamping of ‘Oct 22 PM 1972 CA’ with an 8 cent stamp. The silver shaded coin has an embossed scene of a batter, catcher and an umpire, ‘World Series 1972’ is embossed above the scene. The back of the coin is exposed on the other side of the page honoring the Athletics. The certificate of authenticity is part of the display.
