A Romantic Continental landscape oil painting on canvas by well-listed British artist, Alfred Fontville De Bréanski, Jr. (1877 – 1957). This Tonalist work depicts a rushing river flowing past a pair of sheep next to a dirt path in a mountainous landscape. The work features a palette of purple, blue, green, orange, amber, white, tan, brown, red, and black. Signed by the artist on the lower right corner. The canvas is signed and titled to the verso. The piece is set in an ornate gilt wood frame.

- large puncture and tear to lower left side of the painting; scratches and chips to frame; discolorations and craquelure to paint surface; minor loss of paint.
