Handwoven Indo-Oushak Area Rug
Item Details
A handwoven Indo-Oushak area rug. This wool rug, likely made in India, is cross-stitched in a palette of cream, camel, mustard, steel gray, sage, and crimson. It features a large-scale curvilinear herati pattern incorporating palmettes, leaves, and vines over a cream-colored field. The field is framed by four borders, including a wide, stylized herati main border over gray. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with knotted ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
