1930s "Moon Mullins" Tin Wind-Up Toy

Item Details

A vintage 1930s ‘Moon Mullins’ tin wind-up toy. The Marx Moon Mullins and Kayo Handcar was based off of comic strip ‘Moon Mullins’, created by Frank Willard in the early 1920s. Kayo is Moon’s younger brother in the comic strip. This wind-up car features Moon and Kayo on a railroad handcar. The car is made from pressed steel while Moon, Kayo, and the pumping lever are all made from tin. The car is operated by a large wind-up key that, when wound, will rapidly propel the toy forward. There is a small stop-lever located at the bottom of Moon’s feet.
