Wooden Budai Carving

A standing carving of Budai, often referred to as the ‘Happy Buddha’ or ‘Laughing Buddha.’ The figure is in a standing position with hands held high, palms up in the gesture of prosperity. The figure features a bald head, elongated earlobes, and a rotund exposed belly with a smiling open mouth. It is carved from a pale wood with darker stained details and is unsigned.
