Elkington & Co. Sterling Silver Dessert Fork and Knife Set

A sterling silver fruit or dessert fork and knife set by Birmingham silversmith Elkington & Co., circa 1924-1925. This set includes six cocktail forks and six knives, which feature slight flared hollow handles with scalloped tips decorated with beaded and shell motifs. They are marked on the handle with the maker’s mark ‘E & Co.’ along with three hallmarks including a crown for Sheffield, a lion for sterling, and a ‘g’ or an ‘h’ for 1924 or 1925. The blades of the knives are also marked ‘Elkington & Co. Silversmiths & Cutlers’, and this set comes with a flatware box.
