A mezzotint print on paper by Arthur L. Cox after the original 1767 painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732 – 1806) titled L’Escarpolette. The image depicts the famous scene in which a fair young woman is being propelled in a swing while a young man hides in the bushes from a vantage point that allows him to see up her dress. Top of picture reads "published by Alfred bell & Bo Lid 6, old bond ft London, W.1 Jan 21st 1926". The bottom reads "Copyright 1926 in the United States of America try Alfred Bell & co ltd, 6, old bond lt, London, England". Signed in graphite on the lower right. The piece is matted, under glass, and set in a gilt wood frame.
