An oil painting on canvas titled The Bayou by Spanish artist Jose Vives-Astara (1919-2004). This Impressionistic piece depicts a view on a Louisiana bayou where tin-roof homes and sheds line the water and boats are tied up nearby. The water is calm and reflects the lush greenery and blue sky above. It is signed by the artist to the lower right corner. An inscription to the verso gives the title, location, and artist’s name. The piece is presented in a wood frame with a linen liner and is wired for hanging.
